The study consists of two parts. The first part examines the experience of other countries, and the emphasis is placed on the results of research on the impact of landscape on traffic safety in scientific publications in international journals. An insight into the methodology of determining black points in different countries is given. In the second part, in August and September 2023, the sections of black spots on Latvian highways determined in 2022 were surveyed, photofixations were made, data on landscape elements were collected, and a description of the landscape was prepared in each area.
